Following last week’s complete washout, the third disrupted programme in four weeks, everyone concerned will be hoping that the stuttering Grades cricket season will finally get under way at the weekend.
Match of the day in Grade 1 looks to be that scheduled for the Links between Bon Accord and Kintore, with Cults having home advantage against Inverurie at the Allan Park, while Gordonians and St Ronald will be hoping to record first Grade 1 victories over Mannofield and Banchory respectively.
In Grade 2 2nd Cults face a journey to Crathie, some of whose players will be away playing at Windsor; while Artisans take on Queens Cross at the Duthie Park, and Fraserburgh face the lengthy trip to face 2nd Kintore at the Castle Pak.
In Grade 3 2nd Gordonians travel to Turriff; while Anchorians entertain 2nd Stonehaven, and Portcullis take on Stoneywood-Dyce in the first round of the Johnston Cup at Grade 4 level.
Sunday sees the first round of the national Small Clubs Cup, with Bon Accord fancied to beat Gordonians while Kintore have to decide how to divide their resources between facing Cults in the small Clubs, and fulfilling a commitment in the National Villages Trophy in which they have reached the Scottish Regional Final in several recent years, but for which the growth of Kintore will mean they are no longer eligible after this year
