Following last weeks washout of most Grades Fixtures, this week the summer arrived and almost all fixtures were completed.

In Grade 1 last years champions Cults recorded a comfortable win over Stonehaven with N. Jadhave ripping the heart out of the Stonehaven innings returning figures of 6 for 28, whilst Bon Accord crushed the newly promoted Gordonians with Fazal Awan recording 153no ably supported by the bowling of Messer Malik and Mirza. Ellon continued to show their strong batting performance from last weeks rained off match with  J. Barrett (108no) and S. Davis (53) contributing to a total of 259-4 which proved too big a task for the Mannofield men with only B. Surva threatening with 54. Last years runners up Kintore set a target of 172 for the newly promoted St. Ronald who managed to hang on to their last wicket for a draw. Inverurie recorded a win over Banchory with Pensioner R. Ewan returning figures of 5 for 6.

In Grade 2 there were comfortable wins for AGSFP’s Caledonian and Queens X over Artisans, Fraserburgh and Crathie respectively and with Steve Murphy (2 for 23 and 48no) spear heading Methlick’s mauling of 2nd Cults. Last years newly promoted clubs 2nd Banchory and 2nd Kintore dual fizzled out as 2nd Kintore scratched their game awarding full points to their opponent.

In Grade 3  2nd Methlick were denied a win requiring only 6 runs to win in a low target of 92 set by newly promoted 2nd Stonehaven, whilst the newly promoted runners-up Gordonians were crushed by Crescent’s new boy A. Nishshanka who returned figures of 5 for 7 and recorded the First hat-trick of the season. Academy comfortably defeated Kemnay whilst there were draws for the remaining 2 fixtures of 2nd Ellon hanging on for a draw against Anchorians and Dunecht failing to clinch victory against a low scoring  Turriff total of 119 with P. Shah (81) scoring the bulk of the Turriff innings.
