At its June 24th Meeting the Committee considered a complaint made on the Web Forum by the captain of Dunecht CC that Mannofield in their Grade 1 match on May 23rd 2009 had fielded a player who had previously appeared for Dunecht this season without observing the procedures of either Rule 13a and 13c as these relate to triallists and transfers respectively.
The technical breach of Rules having been admitted, the Committee agreed that, in conformity with previous analogous cases affecting other clubs, it had no alternative but to deduct 5 league points from the total obtained by Mannofield in that game.
The Committee also homologated a decision of the President on its behalf that Kintore be formally reprimanded for the late of reporting of its result on June 13th 2009; but that as this was a first offence agreed that a warning rather than deduction of points should, as in previous instances involving other clubs, be applied on this occasion.
In reaching these decisions, the Committee asked that it be made clear to all clubs that all breaches of Rules are investigated, judged and (where required) penalised on their individual merits and seriousness – and neither according to the identity of the clubs involved, their league status, nor according to a predetermined tariff.
