Cricket Club: Portcullis

PostPosted: Mon May 22, 2006 11:14 am    Post subject: Dead websites Reply with quote

It is with regret that I must record the passing of two cricket club websites. St Ronald's site hosted on the Geocities free webspace at http://www.geocities.com/martinmurchie/stronald.html no longer points to anything meaningful.

Methlick's site, which promised a "new website coming soon" for many years on their own domain at http://www.methlickcc.co.uk/, has now disappeared now that their domain name registration has expired.

If anyone knows of alternative locations for these sites, or of any other omissions or mistakes on our links page, please post a message here to let us know.

Hi. The Gordos website is down temporarily due to hosting issues and the webmaster now being in Edinburgh, but should be back soon-ish (I am reliably informed Wink ). It may even have content from THIS season... Laughing

EDIT: Slightly revamped site temporarily available at www.sacoomba.com until we can sort out a domain name issue.

The good news - The Artos website is back, and with very pithy match reports as well! Hurrah! Very Happy

The bad news - it's another play-cricket site. Crying or Very sad

Yes Iím afraid the Artos site is a play-cricket site, but we hope to have a little more content than just a weekly scorecard and match report.

Currently we have a news item on the Grade 2 title run-in, giving the low-down from the turf offices on the runners and riders in what looks to be the most thrilling promotion race in memory.

[Edit by MrPurple. Discussion of G2 title chances move to new topic]

Kemnay is the latest club to have gone over to the dark side.

Their website at http://www.kemnaycricketclub.co.uk/ no longer seems to be working, and in its stead a new one has sprung up at http://kemnay.play-cricket.com/.

Anchorians may not have 11 players (each week), but we have an updated website, also on the dark site: http://anchorians.play-cricket.com. The old site is still online, if you're keen to see Chris Forbes's bowling figures from 2002 and 2003.
