Batsman taking guard outside the crease. Hit on pad. Appeal for lbw. Batsman stands where he was and waits for the decision, but the ball's went to first slip who throws down the wicket and he's out.

Stumped or Run Out?

I'd've said Run Out but the Laws say he must be attempting a run, which he clearly wasn't. But then, stumped by a fielder? Doesn't sound right.

Ump gave it stumped but what d'ye reckon?

The difference between stumped and run out is that the wicketkeeper may stump a batsman who goes too far forward to play the ball, while any fielder, including the keeper, may run out a batsman who goes too far for any other purpose, including for taking a run. A fielder cannot stump a batsman.

Ive done that before, fielding between point and gully.

Appeal for LBW batsmen stood outside crease, whilst running in to field ball continued to stumps to run batsmen out.

I agree with apocalypse this would be Run Out.
