Not a good start for England. Trescothick is out, Vaughan is out, and now Jones is out of the first test and there must be a question mark over the rest of the series for him.

Our poll is almost unanimously in favour of India (the one vote for England at the moment was put there by me when I was testing the site, so it doesn't really count).

I'm going to clean my boots when I get home. At this rate I reckon I'll be getting a call up in time for the third test.

Stranger things have happened.

I reckon I can walk out to the middle, have a waft outside off stump and walk back in again at least as well as Graham Hick used to.

And I wouldn't eat anywhere near as many sandwiches.

Six first picks missing, and England still managed to level the series and win their first Test in India for 21 years. Now that's an encouraging result after the poor performance in Pakistan, especially as they had been pretty much written off before the series even started.

SD Udal 4 for 14 from 9.2 overs. Shocked
