From the Match Report on G2 Fixture between Knightriders and AGSFPs Seconds:

Following the innovative thinking at the previous meeting between FP’s and KR when only one run up was used in the wet, it was agreed by the captains that in an effort to give ground shots full value, any boundary would count as 8 runs, not 4.

I commend "innovative thinking" on the whole, but given that our league awards Bonus Points for Team Runs Scored, is this not a bit unfair on other Clubs in the League?

Surely not within the jurisdiction of individual clubs to amend the Laws of Cricket to suit their own needs?

im with you on this one Art,i agree innovation is commendable but to change a boundary amount just to give full value for shots is going much to far,id be in favour of taking the captains of the two sides to task, and asking what they really thought they were doing, what next 15metre boundaries?infact if either side had boundary flags bringing them in would have been an easier thing to do surely...the next time these two sides play will they be suggesting 3 ball overs to speed things up?

Surely a wind up.. but if we are thinking of outrageous alterations of the rules why don't like minded Captains agree to ditch the draw as an outcome at the start of the game?

if thats your answer we should just play friendlies instead of league games,if you want rid of the draw get other teams support and vote it out thats why you have a grades representative surely? i certainly hope your right and grammars website match report was a wind up as i think the league should act before things get taken to far..
