Cults strengthened their chances of regaining the Grade 1 title from current holders Kintore following the league meeting between the two sides on Saturday at Castle Park, skipper Patel leading the visitors to victory with a knock of 95. Bon Accord meanwhile comfortably won their league encounter with Inverurie at the Links to remain in second place.
In the lower part of the table, FPs beat Banchory despite an unbroken 80 run partnership for the visiotrs, while Stonehaven's inconsistent season continued as they were shot out for just 50 by Queens Cross. Ellon returned to winning form at home to St Ronald with a century from Jonathan Barrett balancing the visitors' entire innings total.
In Grade 2 Mannofield put out Gordonians for just 24 to record the season's clearest victory, while Academy beat Anchorians and Crescent got the better of Kemnay. Dunecht remain deep in relegation trouble following their defeat by 2nd Cults, for whom Neil Gillanders recorded a hattrick.
All three of Methlick, Porttcullis and Caledonian won in the race to secure promotion from Grade 3, while 2nd Banchory, 2nd Ellon and 2nd FPs all remain in danger of dropping to Grade 4.
Turriff beat 2nd Dunecht to retain their chances of emulating Caledonian's feat of last season, and taking Grade 4 with a hundred per cent record.
