Earlier this week the attention of the Secretary of the Association was drawn to comments on a local cricket web site, seriously impugning not only the competence, but also the integrity, of the umpires in Sunday's Aberdeenshire Cup Final. These caused grave upset to the individuals concered, without whose input we would have no appointed umpires at all.
While these comments have now been removed, and a full apology made and accepted, Officers of the Association wish to make it clear that such comments are entirely unacceptable, and can lead to disciplinary action under
Rule 22 of the Association for bringing the game into disrepute, with available penalties - depending on whether the infraction is by an individual or a club as a whole - including suspension, a monetary fine, or a deduction of league points.
You have been warned.
