Important Changes Your Input is Required - 2017 - Additional Information

In addition to a Disciplinary Appeal, which was allowed in part, and issues relating to the non-availability of pitches at the Duthie Park on 10, 17 and 24 June, a range of other important issues were discussed at the meeting of the Management Committee held on 12 June 2017.

Grade 4
Concern was expressed that although the season was approaching its mid-point only one or two Grade 4 fixtures had so far been completed.

What the most appropriate grade structure might be going forward, and how the Association could migrate to this before 2019, was a matter for further consideration.

Meantime serious concern was expressed at the number of registered players who might currently be going without a regular game, and who might in consequence be lost to the game.

It was accordingly agreed that the Clubs in Grade 4 should specifically be contacted, by copy of this news item, to ascertain what proportion of fixtures they realistically expected now to be able to complete; an estimate of the number of players currently being left without games in consequence; but also that all clubs across the grades should be asked to react to a proposal that clubs with players to whom they are unable to offer a game any weekend should be afforded the ability to nominate these to a centrally-administered pool or website, from which teams for matches outwith the existing league structure could be assembled, or [as already permitted and in some cases implemented] surplus players lent out to teams in Grades 3 and 4, to ensure that the maximum number of registered players are enabled to play.  For data protection reasons, any published details on such a list could however display the names, or numbers, and clubs of available players only – and not individual contact details.

Standard Ball
Supplies had been obtained a possible alternative standard ball, adoption of which might also result in sponsorship for the Association.

These would be distributed [2 each] to the teams at home in Grade 1 for use in the league matches scheduled for that day [with 15 July as a reserve date].

Club Governance Audit
Those clubs who had not yet responded were asked to do so as soon as possible, given the possibility of legal risk in this area.

Turriff Cup
The clubs drawn at home are reminded of the need to notify the Committee of the agreed original and reserve dates for the Quarter-Final Rounds by the weekend before the next Committee meeting on Monday 10 July.

Representative Games
Dates for representative games v the Strathmore Union & NoSCA were confirmed.
