Club Webinar on Saturday 7th October 2017

Just a quick reminder about the Club Webinar on Saturday 7th October 2017. Details as follows:
Making it Happen – how your cricket club can hit the ground running in 2018
Book onto three webinars (online seminars) for Scotland’s cricket clubs:

  • 11.00am Saturday 7th October - Developing an enterprising culture at your club
  • 11.00am Saturday 29th October - Getting people involved and committed
  • 11.00am Saturday 26th November - Making it happen
30 minutes online with a 20 minutes presentation and 10 minutes of discussion and Questions and Answers.
So, how is 2017 going so far for your club? Are you achieving what you set out to do at the beginning of the year? Or, are there areas where you feel that there simply hasn’t been the progress made that you wanted (and needed)? Are you getting new people into volunteering? Are you generating the income required to run the club and to make the improvements and repairs that need doing? Or is there simply not the enterprise and drive required?
Those cricket clubs that develop an innovative and enterprising culture tend to do better than those who ‘do the same old, same old’ and then wonder why things are not progressing. It’s not always easy to make things happen. But we all accept that, but we at Cricket Scotland are keen to help all our clubs move forward and achieve their full potential,
So, as part of our Thriving Clubs programme, here is a unique opportunity for all cricket clubs to get some thoughts, tools and to-dos you can use there and then.

(You don’t have to attend all three, but we will still send you the video from the webinar you can’t attend to view at your leisure).
7th October - Developing an enterprising culture at your club
Clubs with an enterprising culture tend to be performing better, on and off the pitch. They are willing and able to be more innovative and learn from their successes and failures.
They recruit and retain more skilled and passionate volunteers, they adapt their membership formats to suit people's lives, they engage with their communities and everybody benefit.
This webinar will give you some easy-to-use tools and advice on how to overcome resistance to change and, step-by-step, build an enterprising culture.
29th October - Getting people involved and committed
To make it happen at your club, you'll need committed and skilled people. So how do you create an environment where good people from within your community want to be involved with your club and where they can make a real difference?
This webinar will give you some real pointers on how to find, engage and welcome good people from across your community.
26th November - Making it happen
Having developed the enterprise culture and with some good people with you, your club can now start to move forward and get hit 2018 running. To capitalise you need both to have a clear vision, but also have some clear action points ready - baby steps can lead you to the Moon!
This webinar will help you to develop that vision and get started on those baby steps.
The webinars are run by Svend Elkjaer of Sports Marketing Network, who will be known to most of you. He has great experience and understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing community cricket clubs.
To register for the webinars please send an email with the word ‘yes’ in response to this email or to svend@smnuk.com and you will receive a confirmation and a ‘thought-sheet’ with questions and points for you to ponder before the webinar.
You will also receive easy-step instructions on how to log on.
Any questions, please get in touch with Svend on svend@smnuk.com or call him on 01423 326 660.
