Grades Results for w/e 23rd-24th June 2018 - As we reach the half-way mark of the season.

As we reach the half-way mark of the season. The top of the table clash in Grade 1 was convincingly won by Bon Accord, this despite Knight Riders posting an impressive 205 for the loss of eight wickets, which proved not to be enough as the Bon Accord third wicket pair of Andy Win and Reman Haider put on 160 to crush the hopes of the Groats Road side. ''This was a great game of cricket, but the difference was in Andy's unbeaten 84, and Reman's 66 not out. If we beat Crescent tomorrow, we'll be hard to catch,'' said Tauqeer Malik, the Bon Accord captain. In the event Malik's faith in his side was unjustified, as his understrength side were bowled out by Crescent on Sunday, scuttled by Taimur Suri who claimed six wickets at the Links, as Bon Accord slid to 106 all out in just 24 overs of the scheduled 45. The visitors dragged themselves back into the title race, easing past the home total with five wickets in hand ably led by an unbeaten 65 from skipper Nathan Thangaraj compensating Crescent for their heavy defeat at Rubislaw the previous day where AGSFPs, the defending champions destroyed Crescent, racking up 307 for five with Karan Anand (103 not out) and Eddie Steinson (76) leading the way before the Rubislaw side bowled Crescent out for 127. Inverurie kept up their title charge after a poor start to the season, dismissing Grampian for 78 with Paul Cook grabbing the headlines, taking four for 15. A total the Kellands Park side passed for the loss of only three wickets.
Stoneywood-Dyce made it two league wins in a row, bowling Academy out for 77 when chasing 180. Left handed seam bowler Jon Grant, claiming six for 17. In a high scoring game at Allan Park, Cults ran up a solid 279 for five of which Geet Grover hit an unbeaten 152, only to be overhauled by the Mannofield side whose match winners were Callum Martin (111) and Rahul Chandu (108 not out).
In Grade 2, Ellon Gordon made all the running away to Gordonians, putting them out for 155 and then going on to rattle off the required runs with seven wickets in hand. In the same division Fraserburgh's Fraser Lawrance hit a fine 106 in his side's 125 win against Stonehaven, while Alan Rennie was in among the wickets for the Brochers, taking six for 20, pushing his side in contention for promotion, just behind Gordonians
Banchory's 100% record is still intact in Grade 3 after a close run affair. Batting first the Burnett Park side scored 166 but were pushed all the way by 2nd Methlick who ended up on 148 for eight at the Lairds ground.

Sunday also saw the quarter-final of the Reid Cup with Portcullis easily chasing down a low scoring 63 by 2nd Methlick, the only other match scheduled was scratched with Turriff unable to raise a team against 3rd AGSFPs. Portcullis and 3rd AGSFPs will now meet the winners of 2nd Stonehaven v 2nd Grampian and Crathie v Banchory respectively which has been re scheduled due to ground unavailability for the Reserve dates of Sunday 15th July and with the semi-finals scheduled for the Sunday 29th July.
