Grades Results for w/e 30th June - 1st July

There were no major shocks in the race for the Grade 1 title after the leading four sides all eased to wins, although Inverurie might have expected a tougher test away to Crescent who were all out for 94. George Hadden was the man of the day for the visitors, taking six for 17 and then going on to top score with 21 as Inverurie crept to a four wicket win. Leaders and defending champions AGSFPs were convincing nine wicket winners away to Mannofield after bowling the home side out for 177. Alex Keith then decimated the Mannofield attack with a thunderous unbeaten 112. Bon Accord were almost as convincing in their seven wicket demolition of Stoneywood-Dyce at the Peoples Park, bowling them out 143 and then racing to victory with seven wickets in hand. Akhlaq Bashir top scored for Bon Accord with a brutal, but polished 68 not out. Knight Riders bowled Cults out for 118 at Groats Road, thanks to some inspired bowling from Sivaganesan Palaniappan (four for13) and captain Somu Kumarasamy (three for 23), but then lost five wickets in hunting down victory.
In Grade 2, leaders Ellon Gordon maintained their 100% record, beating 2nd Knight Riders by 155 runs. Captain Ben Webb top scored with 109 in the home total of 241 all out. The visitors then crashed to 86 all out. In the same division Fraserburgh kept up their promotion drive with a seven wicket win away to Aberdeen Super Kings, bowling them out for 211. Liam Bowie led the chase, scoring a fine 95 not out.
In the only game to go ahead in Grade 3, Dunecht beat Crathie by 82 runs after bowling their Aberdeenshire rivals out for 115 when chasing 197.

Sunday saw the quarter-finals of the Bon Accord Cup with Ellon Gordon (184-7) sending Gordonians (188-3) through to the semi-finals despite half centuries from Ben Webb and Stuart Davies as Gordonians eased to victory with a half century from Chamila Perera ably supported by Scott Rowell. The Siyapa total (170-4) aided with a fine 82 by captain Mohammad Shahid was too much for the Methlick (141-6) side to chase down leaving Siyapa to entertain Gordonians in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, the 2nd AGSFPs (117-8) battle against 2nd Knight Riders (121-2) was a comfortable affair for 2nd Knight Riders as an unbeaten 75 by Sivaganesan Palaniappan helped his side to victory.
Fraserburgh had the easiest ride of all to the semi-finals as Stonehaven were unable to raise a team, which now leaves Fraserburgh taking on 2nd Knight Riders at home. All the Bon Accord Cup Semi-finals are scheduled to be played on Sunday 22nd July 2018.
