Your Ball and Therefore Your Game by Jack Nixon

Less than three weeks to go before the cricket season is upon us, although the less fainted in the English County game were well and truly up and running last week.
But for me the season will not have seriously started until I have heard bat on ball at the Links, either in Aberdeen or Fraserburgh, or felt the sun on my back at Groats Road, or for that matter at Sheddocksley.
Wherever, it matters not, as I am once again privileged to have been asked to write about the game as delivered by the NE Cricket SCIO(Aberdeenshire Cricket Association) for the third season by my lords and masters at the Journals, and just as importantly by this website.
I cannot of course put pen to paper in such a worthy cause, without hearing from you guys and girls who after run the sport, indeed it's your ball and therefore your game.
Bearing this in mind, I need to hear from each and every club in the grades before FRIDAY APRIL 19 about your ambitions for the season, even if it is only 30 words, in order that I can write a preview of the season the following week.
I can be contacted on jacksport@btinternet.com or on 07879 648953.
Regardless, of how trivial, I want to hear from you about the progress your club,or individual is making, or intends to make. I already have a submission from Methlick Cricket Club informing me that their stand out late order batsman Deni Sarafimoski has been keeping his eye in by playing darts for his local team, notching up a cool 180 in the process, proving to be just as valuable in another sport as he is for the MCC up at Lairds.
So let's be hearing from you by my deadline of FRIDAY APRIL 19.
In the meantime, I shall be cobbling together some of my own views for this great game for publication in the run up to the season, subject of course to editorial control, not least my continuing support for the juniors in the game.
