CRUNCH TIME AT RUBISLAW AND MANNOFIELD

With 7 Saturdays left of the season it is still all to play for at both ends of the Grade 1 table. This Saturday sees a huge clash at Rubislaw as AGSFPs host Bon Accord. Bons are on a 4 game unbeaten run, and a creditable performance in the cup against SPCU opposition last Sunday will give them confidence as they face a Grammar outfit packed with all their big guns.

With Links turned in to a caravan site, the Crescent v Gordonians match has been moved to Sheddocksley. Gordos have struggled with the bat of late, and were comfortably beaten by Crescent in the reverse fixture, but playing on an unfamiliar pitch might make this match a little closer than the last encounter.

The previous match between Knight Riders and Stoneywood-Dyce gave the former a 1 wicket win in a match dominated by bowlers, but on the artificial pitch at Groats Road, batsmen may find runs easier to come by, so don't rule out SDCC turning the tables in what should be a nail biter.

Winless Mannofield welcome Inverurie to Harlaw with the visitors hoping a slip up next door from AGSFPs will allow them to ascend to the top of the table again. Cults travel to Ellon knowing that a convincing win would see them exit the bottom three at the expense of their hosts, so an interesting day ahead in Grade 1.

In Grade 2, Burnett Park sees Banchory looking to narrow the gap on fellow strugglers 2nd Knight Riders. The latter beat the league leaders last week and could jump a couple of places if they win. Stonehaven and Grampian lock horns at Mineralwell Park in what should be a closely fought match, but the result will depend on whether the top Stonehaven bowlers can subdue the on form Grampian batsmen. At Duthie Park, Siyapa will be looking to bounce back from a surprise defeat last Saturday, and 2nd AGSFPs, who are on a miserable run, may well be just what they need to restore promotion momentum.

Fraserburgh have a busy weekend as Methlick visit on Saturday, and they travel to 2nd AGSFPs on Sunday. It's been a topsy turvy season for the Broch, and 2 wins would do them the power of good. 2 defeats and they could slip in to relegation trouble!

In Grade 3, it's top against bottom as Portcullis take on a youthful 2nd Gordonians at Countesswells. Crathie go to Dunecht seeking another win to keep up the pressure on Portcullis, and Lairds sees the second strings of Methlick and Grampian strive to deposit the ball in the River Ythan.

In the SPCU NE Championship, a strong Gordonians side will be looking to return to winning ways as Strathmore visit Countesswells. Arbroath host Mannofield in what should be a close match, but the match of the day will be at Dalnacraig where Dundee High will be looking to inflict a first defeat on high flying Meigle.

In the EPL, Aberdeenshire will be anxious to get a result against the visitors from Arbroath, and across the city, on form Stoneywood-Dyce could do their neighbours a favour by beating Stewarts Melville.
