NEW YEAR NEWSLETTER

The following has been sent to a representative of all member clubs and we would hope that they would be in touch with regards to the fundraiser and the introduction to umpiring course.

NESC SCIO and CLAN JOINT FUNDRAISER -
We are holding a Quiz Night at the Ashvale in Aberdeen on Wednesday 19th February. This is a joint fundraiser with CLAN and tickets will cost £15 with a meal provided. Quiz teams of up to 6 can enter. The support of our member clubs is essential if this sort of venture is to work and be run again in the future. Please get back to us ASAP advising of potential numbers of participants.

CRICKET BALLS -
We have informed Thistle Sports that we will be sticking with the Dukes balls for 2020. We would like to avoid the supply issues that we experienced in 2019 and would be grateful if you could advise how many of the Grade 1 balls you would expect to use in 2020, and how many Grade2/3 balls? To help with your calculations, we expect teams to have 18 Saturdays of cricket (including G2 and G3 T20 cups), plus Aberdeenshire Cup, plus Turriff Cup.

GROUND AVAILABILITY -
We are waiting on fixtures elsewhere before looking to prepare our fixtures for 2020, but these aren't far away from being finalised. Can you get back to us advising of any dates that your ground would not be available to host a home fixture, or any dates when your club would be unable to fulfil a fixture?
We expect our season to start on Saturday 2nd May but ground availability issues in the City may mean we have to schedule some fixtures on Saturday 25th April. We expect the season to end on Saturday 29th August. Dates for Sunday cup matches are not available at the moment.

AGM -
The NESC SCIO AGM will be held at Mannofield on Sunday 1st March at 3pm. Any clubs wishing to propose amendments to rules must send any such motions to this email account by 1st February to allow for appropriate circulation to clubs.

TRUSTEES -
We anticipate that at least 2 trustees will not be standing again at the AGM and we would be particularly keen to hear from potential new trustees. If you have a legal or marketing background that would be an added bonus.

CLUBS ENTERING OR WITHDRAWING FROM GRADES -
Clubs are reminded that the final date for advising of the entry of new teams, or for the withdrawal of a team, is the 15th January. Please also advise of any change of club sponsor by this date so that the change can be incorporated in the fixture list.

INTRO TO UMPIRING COURSE -
We are grateful to ESCOA and Steve Scott for offering to run an Introduction to Umpiring Course at Mannofield on Tuesday 18th February starting at 7pm and running until approximately 9pm. The course is free and will cover the basic laws that come in to play on a regular basis.
We would like to see at least 2 attendees from every club, and would be grateful if you could get back to us with names of potential attendees.
