Cults' hopes of regaining the Grade 1 title were further strengthend at the weekend as they completed the double over Kintore, while Banchory added third-placed Stonehaven's scalps to their earlier defeats of Bon Accord and Kintore. At the foot of the table meanwhile Artisans' and Grammar FPs' expectations of relegation increased as both suffered heavy defeats, and Inverurie's game versus Mannofield was brought to a premature end by heavy rain at the tea interval.
In Grade 2 St Ronald were held to a draw by Methlick, while 2nd Cults' hopes of joining their seniors in the top division were increased following their win over Queens Cross. With Gordonians also defeating Kemnay, the result at Harlaw also pushed the home club back towards the relegation zone, while Academy's hopes of promotion received a knock against Crescent for whom S. Bond scored a century and took six wickets in the day's individual all-round performance.
Rain caused the abandonment of the key games at both the top and bottom of Grade 3, while Stoneywood-Dyce took useful points from their defeat of Portcullis, and Fraserburgh improved their relative standing following their win over Dunecht. At the top of Grade 4 Methlick's game against St Ronald was another to fall victim to the weather, while Ellon's position improved following their walkover against 2nd Dunecht, who with fourteen players only available were forced to scratch their second eleven game for a second successive week.
