Centuries from Grammar FPs' Jerry Moir and Steve Barron of Kemnay proved insufficient to see their sides through to victory, as both clubs were held to draws in Saturday's latest round of games in the Thistle Sports Grades.
In
Grade 1 despite being timed out by Kintore for failing to be present to toss 15 minutes before the appointed time for the start of the game, Grammar FPs nevertheless avoided defeat for the first time this year, and came close to winning in the two sides' clash at Rubislaw on a day which also saw Bon Accord beat Stonehaven Thistle at the Links to confirm their position as probably the only realistic challenge to Cults securing this season's Grade 1 title, as the Allan Park recorded another maximum points at home to Mannofield.
In
Grade 2 St Ronald gained ground as they beat Caledonian by nine wickets at King's College, while 2nd Cults lost to Gordonians at Countesswells and Anchorians took maximum points at home to Crescent.
In
Grade 3 the two sides who have dominated for most of the season, Crathie and 2nd Kintore, won through to meet each other in next month's final of the
Reid Cup, while in
Grade 4 2nd Mannofield brushed aside 2nd Stonehaven in their
Johnston Cup Semi-final to earn the right to play 2nd Ellon in the final.
