The First in Grades History

This Saturday sees a new first in the history of the Thistle Sports Grades as two teams from the same club clash in league competition.

The match concerned takes place at the Allan Park where 2^nd Cults are formally at home to their first eleven and current title holders.  Based on results to date, and the fact that 6 of the first eleven players may play for only the first team, an away win is predicted.

Elsewhere at the top of Grade 1 Bon Accord are at home to Banchory; while their co-tenants at the Links, Mannofield, travel to Kintore.  Ellon will fancy their chances at home to Inverurie, while Stonehaven have a home tie against Caledonian.

At the top of Grade 2, the two sides with maximum points, Grammar FPs and St Ronald are away to Kemnay and Gordonians respectively, while Crathie have their opening home fixture against Queens Cross.

In Grade 3, 2^nd Kintore who are already showing that they are likely again to be one of the promotion contenders this season will probably carry too much firepower for 2^nd Grammar, while Dunecht take on Anchorians on the Cowdray Estate.

In Grade 4 Portcullis will finally hope to get their season under way at home to 2^nd Stonehaven, while Huntly Highlanders travel to Harlaw, and St Ronald play Mannofield on the newly-fertilised wicket at King’s College.

GRADE 2: Academy Toco Sport v Methlick (DP2), Crathie v Queens Cross, Fraserburgh v Artisans, Up Front Gordonians v Dominion Gas St Ronald, Kemnay v AGSFPs.

GRADE 3: 2^nd AGSFPs v 2^nd Kintore, 2^nd Banchory v 2^nd Ellon, Crescent v Turriff (DP1), Dunecht v Anchorians, 2^nd Methlick v Stoneywood-Dyce.

GRADE 4: 2^nd Gordonians v 2^nd Dunecht, Portcullis v 2^nd Stonehaven (DP3), 2^nd Queens Cross v Huntly Highlanders, 2^nd St Ronald v 2^nd Mannofield (Kings College).
