Grade 1 takes on a familiar look
Although only three weeks of the season have passed, the Thistle Sports Grade 1 table is already assuming a familiar look.
At the top Bon Accord and Cults both remain on maximum points, following their wins on Saturday; while after their opening weekend hiccups Kintore and Ellon have moved into position close behind, should either of the top two slip up; and Inverurie and Mannofield again look like competing with the two promoted sides, Caledonian and 2nd Cults to avoid going down to the second flight.
St Ronald meantime occupy the top spot in Grade 2, slightly ahead of Grammar FPs who were held to a draw by Kemnay; while Academy - who have still to show consistent form - beat promoted Methlick. Queens Cross put up a much improved batting performance at Crathie, only for the game to be washed out by torrential storms early in the second innings, while Fraserburgh comfortably beat Artisans
In Grade 3 early indications are that Dunecht will show improved form this season; but Anchorians and Crescent have yet to recover winning ways following their relegation from Grade 2 last season. 2nd Kintore, who narrowly lost out on promotion last year continue to occupy one of the promotion spots again this time round despite being held to a draw by 2nd Grammar.
In Grade 4 Portcullis finally got their season under way following two blank weekends; but were unable to win against 2nd Stonehaven; while previously unbeaten St Ronald lost heavily against 2nd Mannofield at King's College.
