Sun Shines on Centurians
In all three players recorded centuries - South African D van der Vrley helping to improve Mannofield's position in the lower half of Grade 1, despite their being unable to close out victory against Banchory; while B Webb scored an undefeated 102 for Methlick in their victory over Kemnay, and Chris Forbes scored 107 and took three wickets against Turriff, but still finished up on the losing side.
In terms of league positions the top of Grade 1 remained unchanged with Cults being granted a walkover against Inverurie, while Bon Accord reorded a ten-wicket victory over Ellon, and Kintore recorded full points at home to Caledonian. At the other end of the table 2nd Cults remain without a win following their defeat by Stonehaven.
There were also wins for the top two - St Ronald and Grammar FPs - in Grade 2, while Queens Cross's recovery of form continued against Academy at the Duthie Park. Crathie however, slightly surprisingly, have still to fully adjust to Grade 2 since their promotion last season; and were forced to play out time at home to Gordonians.
In Grade 3 2nd Kintore continue to set the pace, beating 2nd Methlick at Lairds, while Dunecht could only draw at home to 2nd Ellon. 2nd Banchory continued their good start to the season, following last season's promotion, comfortably beating Stoneywood-Dyce; while Crescent also recorded a win at the expense of 2nd Grammar.
In Grade 4 Portcullis returned to winning ways, beating 2nd Dunecht; while 2nd Queens Cross beat 2nd Stonehaven, and 2nd Gordonians gained a comfortable victory over 2nd St Ronald. Huntly Highlanders drew with 2nd Mannofield at Sheddocksley.
