The weekend's monsoon rains held off long enough for another full programme of league games to be completed in the Thistle Sports Grades, on a day which saw no fewer than five centuries being logged in the lower divisions.
Two of these came at Countesswells with Aditya Barthakur and Tariq Butt each reaching the magic milestone, as promotion-chasing Gordonians ran up 296 for three off 40 overs but were still unable to force victory against Fraserburgh; while the day's other centurions were Charles Woolridge-Gordon for 2nd Ellon, Jeremy Skedge of Crescent, and Stuart Davidson of 2nd Kintore, the last-named still finishing on the losing side as Chris Forbes of Anchorians fell one short of being the day's sixth centurion in a high-scoring game in the Duthie Park.
Back in Grade 1 meanwhile, leaders Bon Accord had a bad day at the office, being put out for just 113 by Kintore, a result which enabled Cults to make up ground following their win over Banchory. Stonehaven, whose form has slumped somewhat since their defeat by Cults, just held on for a draw against Ellon, while Inverurie pulled themselves further away from relegation trouble with victory over Mannofield, leaving Caledonian in bottom spot following defeat by 2nd Cults.
At the top of Grade 2 St Ronald just clung on to beat Academy, while Grammar FPs also bat Methlick; while at the foot there were further defeats for Kemnay and Artisans.
2nd Kintore's defeat means 2nd Banchory again go top of the table following their win over bottom-placed 2nd Grammar; while in Grade 4 Portcullis and 2nd Stonehaven confirmed their league form by winning their respective semi-finals in the Johnston Cup.
