Do you know of a Youngster who wants to Play Cricket?

At the Junior AGM on Monday 22nd February it was agreed that Alan Barron (Administrator, Aberdeen City/Shire Cricket Development Group) should circulate to clubs who are known to have juniors to establish how many youngsters they will have on their books at each age group of u11/u13/u15 (with the qualifying date for example being under-13 at 1st September 2009). The key message coming from those in attendance was that even if clubs have less than a quota for a team that they should still advise Alan of their numbers such that he can be creative and blend clubs together such that youngsters get games of cricket.

Who the youngsters play for and what they achieve individually is of less importance at younger age groups than the youngsters actually getting match time to compliment the coaching that Clubs are delivering and/or organising.

Therefore, can each club please complete the table below and return to Alan by Monday 22nd March 2010 so that he can blend players/clubs and generate a league structure prior to the Grades Handbook print deadline in late March.

   1. Club Name
   2. Contact Name
   3. Contact Telephone No
   4. Contact email
   5. Age Group No's.
   6. Under 11 =
   7. Under 13 =
   8. Under 15 =

Alan reiterated some of the examples revealed during the ACSCDG AGM of how blended sides have worked in the past. Stoneywood-Dyce & Stonehaven Thistle played as a combined side in the 90s and alternated home venues with the host club fielding 6/7 to their partners 5/4 in that example. Banchory also teamed up with Stonehaven. Ideally Alan will try to apply some common sense in terms of geography.
