Management Committee Meeting held on 7th June 2010At a meeting of the Management Committee held on 7th June 2010 the following decisions were taken.
2nd Dunecht v Kemnay 1 May 2010 The Committee noted that this match had been cancelled without apparent clear agreement of the opposition outside the provisions of Clause 3(i) of the Wet Weather Rules, stating that no match should be postponed before the morning of the match. The Committee determined that accordingly the match must be awarded to Kemnay as a walkover. The Committee reminds all clubs of the need to ensure that they are aware of and follow this and other provisions of the Wet Weather Rules: failure to do so will be regarded as failing to fulfil or play out a fixture under Note 5 to Association Rule16 on p.13 of the 2010 Handbook. Anchorians v Cults-Artisans 22 May 2010. The Committee agreed that the player’s contribution to Anchorians’ performance in the game be formally discounted, resulting in a reduction of 64 runs and addition of one wicket lost to their total, thereby giving victory to Cults-Artisans and reducing Anchorians’ points tally by 6. Additionally, an administrative penalty of 10 league points be applied for breach of Rule 11. In summary, Cults would gain 7 points and Anchorians lose 16 from those originally achieved. The Committee reminded Anchorians and all other clubs of the need to ensure all players are fully registered before playing in any game. Registrations can be made by Phone up to the start of play, provided they are followed up by a revised copy of the registration form at the start of the next week. Bon Accord v Stonehaven 26 June 2010 The Committee noted that Stonehaven had asked for a postponement of their Grade 1 fixture on 26 June as members of their First Eleven would be on tour. The Committee agreed that, while it was supportive on clubs going on tour, precedent was that such matters should in the first instance be negotiated between the Clubs concerned; and that the Secretary had drawn this point verbally to the attention of Stonehaven, along with the provisions of Note 1 to Rule 16, regarding scratching or postponing of fixtures where a team has two or more teams in the Grades with fixtures on the same day. Also, it would be the preference of the Committee that where possible fixture were brought forward rather than put back. The Committee endorsed the Secretary’s analysis & approach; and agreed that Stonehaven be advised accordingly. Transfers under Rule 12 (c) The Committee noted that, at the closure of the transfer window at 1pm on Saturday 5 June, a total of 6 transfers had been approved and effected under Rule 12( c), generating income to the Association of £150. These were: Stonehaven to Kintore -1 Ellon to Gordonians - 1 Queens Cross to AGSFPs – 1 Academy to Gordonians – 1 Anchorians to Kintore – 2. No further transfers of players who had appeared in the Grades this season would now be permitted, other than if a club folded or players, with the approval of their existing club were permitted to appear as triallists for a club whose first eleven was in a higher grade than the first eleven of their existing club, and the other requirements of Rule 12 (a) were followed.
