Grades Results May 27th

Although a waterlogged pitch put paid to the top of the table encounter between Cults and Kintore, both Ellon and Bon Acccord maintained their pressure on the league leaders, beating St Ronald and Inverurie respectively.

For Ellon, playing St Ronald at their new home venue of King's College, it was Jonathan Barrett who once again led the way, notching up 128 to pin the town side even more firmly down into the relegation zone.  Inverurie meanwhile were unable to make it a trio of draws against top sides, as a undefeated 73 from Kazim Malik, and 43 from Andy Meares helped Bon Accord home by six wickets.  At Harlaw Queens Cross gained a morale-boosting win over Stonehaven, while Grammar FPs and Banchory played out a draw at Burnett Park.

With all three games at the Duthie Park again washed out, Grade 2 was reduced to two fixtures, 2nd Cults returning to form with a convincing win over Dunecht, Andy Gill returning the excellent figures of 5 for 18, while at the Links a sound all-round batting performance, spearheaded by skipper Andy Mitchell and Tariq Butt, saw Mannofield to a narrow 9-run win over Gordonians.

In Grade 3, with Portcullis again idle, Fraserburgh continued to set the pace with a win over 2nd Ellon, while Caledonian further consolidated their Grade 3 status following their defeat of Crathie at Balmoral.  Methlick however were deprived of a win, with their game against 2nd Banchory at Lairds abandoned after 50 overs, while 2nd Grammar clung on for a draw against near neighbours 2nd Queens Cross, John Eagles scoring a vital half-century.

In Grade 4 Turriff's game was void, but 2nd Mannofield won by 3 runs over 2nd St Ronald at the Links, while 2nd Stonehaven and 2nd Methlick played out a draw at Mineralwell Park.

Rain curtailed Saturday's Macallan North League programme with two of the six scheduled games falling foul of the elements.

Leaders Buckie played at Keith and kept their unbeaten record with an 85-run victory.
