And so, another ACA Grades Dinner has been confined to the history books, although it is my fervent hope the eight junior cricketers who attended the event, will see it an occasion they wish to support in years to come.

Further to my previous posting, I circulate herewith further changes proposed to Association Rules 17 and 18 by AGSFPs, Gordonians and Mannofield, as under:

Hello all,
I wish to get the wheels in motion to plan out this close season's use of Sheddocksley Indoor Nets. The reason I am posting so early is so that I can book it well in advance.

After last season’s accident I’m afraid we will have to use indoor balls once again. I still have a basic supply from last year for all clubs but I would recommend that clubs get their own supply of balls. There are a variety of balls on the likes of Amazon and ebay (to name two) at reasonable prices should you wish to purchase some for your club.
I have the feeling that some clubs may not be happy with this hence the reason I wish to find out early how many clubs are wishing to attend the indoor nets so I can plan accordingly.
The clubs that took part last season were:
Aberdeen Super Kings; Academy; Crescent; Dunecht; Grampian (x2); Kemnay Kintore (x2); Knightriders (x2); Portcullis and Siyapa
On top of that the odd player joined in from other clubs (such as Crathie) to get a practice, sharing the costs further.
Could the clubs on this list please confirm if they wish to attend again, when they would like to start, how many lanes would they require and how often they would wish to attend.
Of course new clubs are welcome to join us as well. The sessions last year were held between 10am and 12pm every Sunday and most clubs attended around once a fortnight. By sharing the costs each lane cost £31.25 for a 2 hour session. Had each club booked the hall separately it would have cost £125 per two hour session!
I need to know the numbers of teams who are interested pretty soon so I can got to Sheddocksley and arrange the block bookings. I would rather go to them with a accurate estimate of how much we would need. If you could please get back to me then that would be great.
Many thanks for taking the time to read this.

Only two weeks away from this year's annual dinner, though I note a number of you have yet to sign up for a wonderful opportunity to meet old friends from this great game of cricket on a night of celebration for the ACA Grades.

Not only will you get a first class meal at an equally first class establishment, but will have the chance to celebrate another season of quality cricket, this despite the best efforts of the weather to disrupt competitions.

Among those who will win an award is the player, or official who has caught my eye, and has made a major contribution to the local game. Picking a winner has been harder than ever, especially as I have seen so many of you in action over the season, including your hard working committee and officials from the numerous member clubs.
