The Grade Select once again came up against their annual nemesis as for a third successive year they were dismissed from the Three Counties cricket Cup in Tuesday night's second round game played at Huntly. None of the Select's batsmen topped 25 as they were dismissed for 106, a score easily overhauled by the home side for the loss of only three wickets. Cults' hopes of regaining the Grade 1 title were further strengthend at the weekend as they completed the double over Kintore, while Banchory added third-placed Stonehaven's scalps to their earlier defeats of Bon Accord and Kintore. At the foot of the table meanwhile Artisans' and Grammar FPs' expectations of relegation increased as both suffered heavy defeats, and Inverurie's game versus Mannofield was brought to a premature end by heavy rain at the tea interval.
